How does the symphony orchestra actually work? Who is the mysterious student taking notes behind the harp? The perfect blend of entertainment and education, Compose Yourself helps kids discover the instruments of the orchestra and how you actually put a symphony together. Jess Shead makes a behind the scenes visit to the Orpheum. This made-for-video adaptation features lots of opportunities to get to know the instruments of the orchestra, and the wonderful people who play them!

Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre

BMSC is currently closed to visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will not accept clients until April 1, 2021, at the earliest.

Currently, though, we are offering virtual field trips through out BMSC Live! program. These are delivered through Zoom and cover many of our regular field trip topics: including, but not limited to Marine Invertebrate Diversity, Oceanography, intertidal ecology, Plankton studies, Seaweeds, and more!

Outreach: Portable Planetarium

HR MacMillan Space Centre

Immerse your students in the Universe with our digital portable planetarium. With our portable planetarium you will be able to stand on the Moon and look back at Earth, experience a Martian sunrise, and even see what the Milky Way galaxy looks like.

The portable planetarium is a large dome that can be easily set up in any 7 x 7 x 4 metre (23 x 23 x 12.5 feet) space. The program consists of:
